McLaren Announces Pure McLaren Race Academy 2017 Calendar

McLaren has announced details of the Pure McLaren Race Academy programme for 2017. The events provide McLaren owners and enthusiasts the opportunity to take part in track days at famous Grand Prix circuits. The courses take part all over the world, so should give a varied offering of tracks.

High-Performance

Those interested in motorsport and amateur racing are particularly well catered to this year. The Pure McLaren Race Academy has introduced several packages focussing on high-performance driving. The Pure McLaren Performance Academy offers a graded programme of intense one-to-one driver training. From track beginner to a performance driver, the four proficiency levels cover all aspects of track driving. As you would expect, said training is completed in McLaren vehicles and this alone is tempting as you start in a 570S Coupé and work your way up to the 650S Sprint.

As well as the Performance Academy, there are two Race Academy courses. The first culminates in an MSA Race License assessment, focussing on preparing the participant for their first motorsport competition. The second is for those looking for their first real race experience. They will have completed the first level, therefore the McLaren environment should be familiar to them. This elite programme includes comprehensive race preparation. It features an in-depth strategic planning session and concludes after six official races with other participants. Upon completion of the races, it is possible to gain the signatures required to upgrade to a National A License (International D License equivalent) and start competing in motorsport events.

Owners and Enthusiasts

It doesn’t all have to be about the serious aspect of racing though. McLaren is also looking to attract current owners and the all-important potential customers who want to push a McLaren to its maximum. Usually, you are unlikely to get any car to its absolute limit – not unless you fancy being pursued by a certain type of blue flashing lights. This is where track days come into their own, providing the best place to take a car to full capacity. McLaren is enthusiastic about welcoming drivers of all abilities, enabling them to develop skills in a controlled environment. Undecided buyers can test out everything they could possibly want to in a relaxed environment. It also gives current owners the chance to socialise with fellow McLaren owners.
