2025 Skoda Kodiaq vRS 7-Seater Brings More Power To The Fore

After a good bit of waiting, Skoda has finally unveiled UK-specific specs and pricing for the all-new 2025 Kodiaq vRS, the performance-focused and sporty flagship of the Kodiaq line-up. You could soon order one starting from £52,595, powered by Skoda’s mighty 2.0 TSI turbocharged petrol engine. Speaking of, if this vRS is a bit too pricey for you, Skoda is also introducing that 2.0 TSI petrol engine – granted, with a different tune – to the standard Kodiaq range, where it will power the Kodiaq SE L and the Kodiaq SportLine. However, if speed is what you’re after, a Kodiaq vRS offers you 265PS and 400Nm of torque – 20PS more than last year’s model!

This actually makes the Kodiaq vRS one of the more powerful combustion-engine-only Skoda models that you could buy today. Similarly, you’ll be glad to hear that the vRS is pretty quick, too! With a 0-62mph time of 6.4 seconds, the vRS is the fastest Kodiaq to date, before it tops out at 143mph. On top of that, you get a slick-shifting 7-speed DSG automatic transmission as standard, in addition to all-wheel drive. AWD is a nice touch, adding that all-weather stability and supreme traction for more versatility, and you’ll even get to hear a new exhaust system. It’s not much, but that new exhaust ought to add a bit more raspy-ness to the Kodiaq vRS.

Speedier, More Power, Yet Just As Practical As The Old Kodiaq

Yet, despite all this fresh power and sharper performance, the new 2025 Skoda Kodiaq vRS is one efficient uber SUV, achieving a respectable average fuel economy of 33.8 MPG. This way, you can have a bit of tyre-shredding fun with your new Kodiaq vRS, without all the guilt! Sure, it’s a big old SUV, but it looks like Skoda put a lot of thought into the Kodiaq vRS’s athleticism. Notably, Skoda will include their rather clever Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC) Plus system as standard, offering you a whopping 15 adjustable damping settings! Aside from being able to customise your driving experience down to a T, you could further tweak its handling, as well.

One interesting addition to the updated 2025 Skoda Kodiaq vRS is progressive steering. It’s a pretty neat system, providing you with a more direct steering feel and response when you go faster, but at slower speeds, it’ll help make the steering a bit easier. Speaking of performance, the Kodiaq vRS includes a set of high-performance brakes. To give you that improved stopping power, the vRS trim comes with ventilated front and rear brakes, as well as larger two-piston callipers on the front axle. Depending on what you’re looking for, you can further fine-tune the Kodiaq with six drive modes – Eco, Comfort, Normal, Sport, Individual, Snow, and Off-Road.

A Brand-New Benchmark For Sporty, Fashionable Skoda SUVs

Of course, for that chunkier price tag, Skoda throws in a bunch of exclusive vRS-specific design elements, inside and out. On the outside, the updated Skoda Kodiaq vRS offers you a bunch of gloss black trim, mostly on the grille, window surrounds, and D-pillars. Elsewhere, you will find a redesigned front bumper and an illuminated horizontal light strip on the front grille. On the rear end of the vRS, you’ll also get a full-width red reflector strip, which is a signature vRS design feature that you might’ve spotted in other Skoda vRS models. The Kodiaq vRS even has some polished stainless-steel exhaust tips for a bit more sheen and 20-inch alloy wheels.

Step inside the 2025 Kodiaq vRS, you’ll immediately notice the sports seats with an integrated headrest, black microsuede and artificial leather upholstery (with some of that really spicy red contrast stitching), electric adjustable front seats (with memory function), and the same black microsuede finishing on the dashboard panel, door inserts, and centre armrest. Additionally, it comes with a 3-spoke sports steering wheel, stainless steel pedals, as well as a big 10.25-inch digital gauge cluster, accompanied by a 13-inch infotainment system. For the right customer who wants speed and practicality, this new Kodiaq vRS sounds like a rather tantalising deal!
