Car Of The Year: Peugeot 3008 SUV

French car design has always been pretty impressive, but this year, Peugeot have really set the bar for SUV style vehicles. The newest addition to the range is the 3008 SUV, and can we just take a moment to appreciate the spectacle of this car?

Known for their family friendly cars, Peugeot has always been a popular choice for parents. The traditional 3008 offered some great features such as built-in sat nav, Bluetooth for phones and a sun roof. But the 3008 has certainly had a steroid induced overhaul for 2017.

Safety and Security

The new Peugeot 3008 SUV has many safety and security features to look for. The first of those is the airbag system in the car. Not only does the car have airbags in the front and passenger seats, but it also has curtain airbags in the front and rear. The car also has an automatic door locking mechanism when you move, and a child lock on rear windows and doors. Some of the other security features include:

− Alarm (perimetric, volumetric with lift and tilt sensor on 2.0L BlueHDi versions)
− Automatic hazard light activation upon heavy brake application
− Exterior temperature indicator with ice warning
− Gear Shift Indicator
− Cruise control and speed limiter
− Speed limit recognition

Comfort and Convenience

Comfort is a huge part of having a car, and there are always some features you’ll want to make sure that your driving experience is as comfortable as possible. The 3008 features a central armrest with storage for convenience when out and about, plus two cup holders in the front. And the cup holders aren’t just at the front, the rear also has a pull-out armrest with cup holders for your friends and family. Here some other features the vehicle has for convenience and comfort:

− Electric and heated door mirrors
− Electric parking brake (includes hill assist)
− Electric power steering with reach and rake-adjustable steering column
− Rear centre console ventilation system
− Rear coat hooks (x2)

Exterior Features

The outside of the car isn’t just a stunning sight, the exterior also has a lot of amazing features:

− Body-colour door handles
− Body protectors
− Chrome rear bumper facia
− Gloss black windscreen trim
− Radiator grille: chrome edge trim and facets
− Body Colour Roof
− Side window trim: black rubber

Interior Features

Finally, and the most exciting part of this car is the features it holds under the bonnet and inside. It may not be the fastest car, or the most powerful, but as a road vehicle it is still pretty impressive and imposing. If you went for the top spec in the range: 1.6L e-THP 165 EAT6 S&S, you would be gifted with 165 horsepower and a value of 129g/km for CO2 emissions.

As far as the inside of the car goes, with cool gadgets and finishing touches, you can expect:

− Satin Chrome Gear lever
− Manual in black (5 speed gearbox) or satin chrome (6 speed gearbox)
Bluetooth® telephone facility
− USB socket
− 6-speaker radio, MP3 compatible
− 12 V sockets (x3)

Now that you know what this machine can do, we wouldn’t be surprised if you started looking at scrap car prices to upgrade your current vehicle.
