100-a-day UK Plug-in Sales
News of the Mahindra e2o release comes with superb news of electric car sales.
This business quarter sees record breaking sales on plug-ins; figures saw sales of plug-ins every 13 minutes building a first quarter total of a massive 10,496. This is helped by the government Plug-in Car Grant Scheme where customers receive a £5,000 rebate incentive.
IB Times featured a statement from Transport Minister Andrew Jones:
“These record figures show that hundreds of people every week are coming round to the fact that plug-in cars are cleaner, greener and cheaper to run. The UK is a world leader in the uptake of low-emission vehicles and our long-term economic plan is investing £600 million by 2020 to improve air quality, create jobs and achieve our goal of every new car and van in the UK being ultra-low emission by 2040.”
Mahindra e2o – Cheaper Than The Twizy
The Mahindra e2o is more expensive than the Renault Twizy but is cheaper than the Nissan Leaf and the Renault Zoe. Available for purchase now, deliveries of this 79-mile range e20 will arrive in May.
E2o is an enhanced and safer version of the Reva. The G-Wiz was criticised for its safety but Mahindra are quick to point out that the G-Wiz is a quadracycle. A common question for new buyers of electric cars is, what happens when the battery runs out mid-drive? This is easily answered: the Mahindra gives drivers an 8-mile range to avoid road-side embarrassment.
There Has Never Been A Better Time
As with all new cars, Mahindra have interior technology with the usual USB, Bluetooth, DAB radio, and Wi-Fi hotspot. In charge of Automotive Operations for Mahindra, Pravin Shah said:

“The e2o is an innovative combination of advancements in automotive, electronics and information technology paired with minimal running costs and zero tailpipe emissions. Further good news for the UK may follow as Mahindra have hinted they are considering manufacturing in UK.
