10,000 Cars From the Prestigious Manufacturer
McLaren finally passed a big milestone, building their 10,000th car. The Woking-based manufacturer announced that the 10,000th car is a 570S finished in ceramic grey rolled off the production line 5 years after the first car, an MP4-12C. McLaren Automotive Chief Executive Officer, Mike Flewitt, said: “The production of the 10,000th McLaren is a significant milestone in the short history of the company. The fact that it took us 42 months to build our 5,000th car and just 22 months to build the next 5,000 speaks volumes about the pace of development of the company.”
McLaren are Going From Strength to Strength
The 570S is one of McLaren’s new sports series family, a collection comprising of the 540C, 570S and 570GT cars. All of the cars produced since McLaren’s come back in 2011 have been produced at the factory including the MP4-12C, the 650S and 675LT and even the incredible P1. The McLaren brand is growing bigger and faster than anyone expected, the demand for cars is so high that in 2016 McLaren had to double the output, from 10 cars to 20 cars per day. Sales in 2016 have doubled to over 3,000 cars throughout the range. The 10,000th car is to be retained by McLaren for its Heritage collection.
