If you want a small chic city car, where would you turn? The FIAT 500 of course. The French, however, want to change that. Renault has launched a chic Iconic Special Edition for the latest Twingo. Priced from £14,595, the Iconic will include styling upgrades on both the inside and outside. It’s also at the top of the range, so it will come with a decent level of kit.
So, What’s Included?
Let’s start with the paint finish – Mint Green – where did they get that idea from? – will be available to choose from as well as Diamond Black and Crystal White. I actually had Diamond Black on a Renault Clio I used to own, lovely colour. Inside, you’ll find crosshatch part-leather upholstery which helps to set this Twingo out from the others. There are also crosshatch decals on the outside, as well as 16″ alloys and a fabric folding sunroof.
In regards to equipment, standard features include a sat nav, climate control, electric front windows, front fog lamps, DAB radio, Bluetooth and cruise control. The Iconic has received £2,825 worth of extra equipment compared to the Dynamique Nav, but represents a £745 saving for customers.
In regards to what will make it go, the Twingo Iconic will be powered by a 90TCe turbocharged petrol, which is available with either a manual or an automatic gearbox. 90hp and 135Nm of torque is offered up by this engine. 0-62 comes in 10.8 seconds and the top speed is 103mph, not that this car has been designed for speed of course. It’s frugal though – 65.7mpg can be achieved on a combined run, with 99g/km of CO2 emissions emitted. Well, that’s with the manual gearbox, with the auto the mpg falls to 58.9, with CO2 emissions of 108g/km.
The new Twingo Iconic is available to order now, with prices starting from £14,595.
