Innovative Battery Architecture: Efficiency and Compact Design
Rimac Energy’s ESS boasts up to 50% reduced energy losses and a 40% smaller system footprint, thanks to its innovative battery architecture. This design stems from Rimac’s renowned expertise in EV technology, applying the same engineering philosophy and know-how to stationary energy storage applications. Additional technological benefits include improved cycle life, built-in redundancy for increased availability, and competitive material and installation costs.
Expanding into Commercial, Industrial, and Utility Applications
Initially, Rimac Energy will provide solutions for large commercial, industrial, and utility-scale applications, with battery-buffered solutions for fast and mega-watt charging already underway. The company is currently in discussions with several customers, including a pilot project with a leading renewable energy company to provide battery storage solutions for their solar and wind power plants.
Pilot Projects and Mass Manufacturing Timeline
Rimac Energy’s pilot systems for selected customers are set to be produced this year, with commissioning in 2024. High volume ESS production is scheduled to begin in 2025 at the Rimac Campus in Croatia, scaling to more than 10GWh of annual production.
