Classic Porsches are becoming sought after at a rapid rate and as a result they are coming rather costly. This rare Porsche 993 Turbo X50 is no different. Finished in Grand Prix White, this low mileage left-hand drive model is up for sale by Hexagon Classics for a cool £199,995.
Virtually a Turbo S
This model may be a Turbo but thanks to factory fitted options, this model is effectively a Turbo S, having taken the ECU, oil cooler and twin tailpipes from that very model. These upgrades help to push the power up to 430 hp from the standard model’s 402 hp. Coupled to a 6-speed close-ration transmission, this 993 is able to get to 62 mph in just under 4.0 seconds and then on to a top speed of around 185 mph.
Porsche of the Rising Sun
This model has come a long way as it was originally registered in the mid-90s in Japan and was one of only 60 LHD models to be registered in the Land of the Rising Sun. Now in the UK, this spotless model has covered just 26,200 miles since first hitting Japan
Paul Michaels, chairman of Hexagon Modern Classics, said: “We all know the world of air-cooled Porsches is an extremely popular one at the moment, but this 993 Turbo X50 holds a very special place in this rarified market. The original buyer had excellent taste, specifying this Turbo up to what is essentially a Turbo S. We’re privileged to have such a low-mileage example of such a rare car in the showroom – it’s one that we’ll be sad to see go when it undoubtedly finds a new home.”
