2017 Inside Line F1 Podcast Awards

After a full year of research, Mithila and Kunal are at their witty best, presenting the 5th edition of their podcast’s awards. As you prepare to tune in, remember that “The winner is never who you think it is.”

For this year’s awards, there are a few interesting categories: How Did That Happen of the Year, Bad Boy of the Year, Promotion of the Year, Demotion of the Year, Race of the Year, Strategy of the Year, Retirement of the Year, Bromance of the Year, Joke of the Year, Rookie of the Year and finally, the Racer of the Year award.

Relive the Season

From interesting pit-lane and track incidents, to media interviews, and even animal sightings, we relive the best moments of the 2016 Formula 1 Season via this episode. The awards see the Formula 1 drivers in full attendance, but a few who couldn’t attend actually had interesting excuses. And now in the wake of the Wehrlein-Bottas-Massa decision, some do make sense.

The FIA was requested to issue a formal dress code for the evening. But, we made exceptions for our favourite drivers, Ricciardo and Raikkonen. In fact, we let Niki and Jackie don their caps too! The one request we didn’t cede to was Fernando Alonso’s. He wanted to play cameraman for this ceremony! Not so soon, Fernando.

And the winner is…

And finally, it was easy to pick the Racer of the Year award. Given a certain driver’s skill, talent, attitude and popularity, the choice was clear. As for Abu Dhabi, it was easy to term it as”The race that wasn’t”. For more, remember to tune in to the 2017 Inside Line F1 Podcast Awards!
