More beautiful and slightly larger, the Vantage might be around in 2017
The 2018 Aston Martin Vantage is about to become 007’s new tool. Is more likely to replace the Aston Martin DB10 James Bond drove in the 2015 movie Spectre. To begin with, here are some of the first spy shots of the Vantage testing at Nurburgring last summer. The news from back then were the new engine for the car, and the platform, we will discuss this. So, the Aston Martin will use a shorter version of the DB11’s aluminium platform, although it’s going to be slightly larger.
What engine will be in the 2018 Aston Martin Vantage ?
Aston Martin plans on adopting AMG’s 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine as Vantage’s power core. This engine debuted in the Mercedes AMG GT with 510 hp at 6250 rpm, and 650 Nm of torque at 4750 rpm. However, its configuration might change in the British car. A manual gearbox is an option by the way. We must not forget new 5.2-liter twin-turbo V12, which Astin Martin might use in the 2018 Aston Martin Vantage.
The AMG’s engine adoption by Aston Martin is one of the outcomes of the accord with Daimler. In other words, Daimler’s 5% stake in the British carmaker means supplying Aston Martin with great engines and technology. They announced this agreement in 2013.
It’s evident that Jaguar and Aston Martin is neck-and-neck to the Italians when it comes to design and beauty. We expect to see such a quality on the Vantage as well. Although this may be true, it’s excruciating to know how much it costs to maintain one of those. But they are beautiful indeed. If the looks of the Vantage is follows its predecessors, it is going to be one of the most beautiful cars in the world again. And the inspiration for the clean and elegant design comes from the DB10.
The next James Bond movie
Despite Daniel Craig stating that he’s had enough with playing James Bond, he might do it just for the money. On the other hand, James Bond’s producer Callum McDougall says Craig continues being the first choice to play 007 again. We don’t know when there will be a next James Bond movie, but Aston Martin expects to debut the Vantage in late 2017, or in 2018, a roadster version would be coming nine months later.
