Audi reveals new 322bhp A7 Sportback Competition
Audi has upgraded its A7 with a more potent version of its twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre TDI engine to create the new A7 Competition. Celebrating 25 years of TDI technology, the new model features a power increase over the standard car, taking peak output to 322bhp.
A further boost function – activated under heavy acceleration – provides an extra 20bhp for a short period. The engine also has 479lb ft of torque available, alongside Co2 emissions of 162g/km and fuel economy of up to 46.3mpg. The model can hit 62mph in 5.1 seconds. The engine is connected to an eight-speed tiptronic transmission, which can also be controlled via steering wheel-mounted paddles. The A7 Competition comes in S-line specification, and so features a lowered ride height, 20-inch alloy wheels, painted brake calipers and discs and new badging. LED headlights are also available.
Inside, the car gets leather sports seats with an embossed S-line badge, contrasting stitching, aluminium and wood inserts and new door sills. While Audi is still deciding whether to bring the model to the UK, it will go on sale in Europe in August at a base price of £57,310. First deliveries are expected in the autumn.
