Covid-19 has had a dramatic effect on the motor trade, with both manufacturers and the dealer network grinding to a halt. However, from June 1st, LSH Auto UK, which is part of LSH International, one of the largest dealer groups for Mercedes-Benz, will reopen dealerships in Stockport, Manchester Central, Whitefield, Macclesfield, and the West Midland locations of Erdington, Birmingham, Solihull and Tamworth.
Appointment Only Basis
The reopened sites will operate on an appointment basis only, to ensure guidelines are observed and ensure the safety of staff and customers.
“We are looking forward to welcoming our colleagues and customers back into our showrooms and we’re putting safety at the heart of everything we do” Says Martyn Webb, Managing Director of LSH Auto UK. “Our approach is to do this slowly and safely, which is why we’re offering an appointment only service at the moment”
“We also recognise that many of our customers will wish to stay at home. With that in mind, we have launched a full digital program so that customers can browse online, book a solo test drive from their home, buy online and choose either click and collect option or home delivery”
Service During the Pandemic
Mercedes-Benz of Stockport and Erdington remained open to cater for the needs of key workers, such as the NHS staff, police, firefighters. These teams provided technical assistance for the Commercial Division, which covers the aforementioned and services such as home shopping, postal and parcel deliveries, utilities and breakdown.
Martyn Webb added: “We have an outstanding team who work together to give our customers the best care in the business. I’m proud of the way that all of our colleagues have pulled together during this difficult time. We’ve made the most of the time available whilst our showrooms have been temporarily closed to plan improvements to the business so that we can deliver an even better customer experience on our return.”
