In May we were invited down to Silverstone by Oppo Mobile to view their new Lamborghini inspired phone during the Lamborghini Super Trofeo race weekend.
In June 2018 Oppo and Lamborghini announced a strategic partnership and you’ll see the Oppo logo on every rear wing of each Huracan race car competing in the 2019 season as well as other areas of each car.
The Oppo Find X Lamborghini Edition
As part of this partnership, Oppo unveiled the Oppo Find X Lamborghini Edition.
Oppo have been focused on bringing high performance camera phones to the industry. The Oppo Find X features a pop up section which houses a dual 16 and 20 megapixel rear camera and a 25 megapixel front camera. This coupled with the 6.42 inch screen makes for a very capable camera phone.
The Find X features Oppos SuperVOOC 50 watt charging system. Capable of charging the phones 3400mAh battery from flat to 100% in 35 minutes via USB C. Color OS 5.1 is the android based operating system found on the Find X which includes “O-Face” facial recognition to unlock the phone. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 Octa Core 2.8GHz 64 bit processor and an Adreno 630 graphics processor.
In terms of storage, there is 512GB of internal storage and 8GB of ram. Although, the storage is not expandable via a memory card slot. Much like Lamborghini cars, the phone uses carbon fibre on the Lamborghini edition instead of the normal blue or red gradient coloured casing. Full detailed specs can be found here.
Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe
The Super Trofeo event itself is a one-make race series that runs in different regions worldwide. The Silverstone weekend was round 1 of 6 of the 2019 European season.
The Huracan Super Trofeo cars used in the series uses the same 5.2-litre V10 engine found in the road-going Huracan but it’s mated to an X-Trac 6 speed sequential gearbox which drives the Pirelli wrapped rear wheels only. The car produces 620ps of power and 570nm of torque.
This coupled with the full aero kit makes this series the fastest one-make race series in the world.
