Jaguar Is Now Offering A Race-Taxi Service Using Their XE SV Project 8 Car
Visitors to the Nürburgring in Germany can now experience the thrill of the fastest production four-door car to lap the legendary circuit, as the ultimate XE SV Project 8 with Track Pack becomes the latest Jaguar Race Taxi.
The Most Extreme Road-Legal Jaguar Ever
Project 8 is the highest performance road-legal Jaguar ever. It was designed, engineered and hand-assembled by Special Vehicle Operations. In November 2017 the 600PS 5.0-litre supercharged V8 Sedan, (Saloon if you’re British) beat some of the world’s fastest two-door coupes and supercars to set a record lap time of 7min 21.23sec, not bad for a car from Jaguar, which in the UK is not typically known for outright speed and agility, more for comfort and luxury.

Special Vehicle Operations Developed The Car At The Nürburgring Circuit
The Nürburgring was very important in the development of the Jaguar XE SV Project 8 car, with the SV Development, along with Jaguar’s team of engineers and drivers, being based at the circuit. The recipe proved a success, and the car is the most track-focused Special Vehicle Operations has ever produced.
With its dynamic design and aluminium-intensive monocoque, the Jaguar XE forms the perfect foundation for the enhanced performance of Project 8. Taking the already agile and responsive handling of the XE, extensive performance enhancements enable Project 8 to sprint from 0-60mph in 3.3 seconds and reach a top speed of 200mph! Yes, 200mph in a road legal Jaguar Saloon that can also put down the speed on track, it’s almost unbelievable.
The First Jaguar To Feature A ‘Track Mode’
Project 8 is studded with world-class motorsport technology; carbon fibre panels, adjustable aerodynamics, a unique suspension setup with adjustable ride height and camber. It’s the first road car with F1-style ceramic wheel bearings. It’s also the first Jaguar with a dedicated Track Mode, which activates electronic calibration settings tailored to circuit use.
