Quattro Times Two – Audi Expands The Q2 AWD Line-Up

The new Audi has arrived and we’re pretty impressed.

Their new Q2 all-wheel drive is the most powerful in the range and is the first petrol-powered model to be underpinned by surefooted quattro all-wheel-drive.

Audi is broadening the appeal of its Q2 compact SUV this week with the addition of this new version, the new Q2 2.0 TFSI quattro 190PS S tronic is now available in S line and Edition #1 specification, costing.

It was offered this week as an alternative to the 150PS 2.0 TDI quattro model which was introduced late last year, with prices from £31,760 OTR to £36,750 OTR and allows quattro all-wheel drive to now be combined with petrol power for the first time.

So like a predator it’s powerful and can adapt well. What else do predators need? You know it’s coming next- speed. Since it produces the highest power output currently available in a Q2, it can accelerate to 62mph from rest in 6.5 seconds – the fastest sprint time in the range. Top speed also reaches an impressive 141mph. And with 144g/km and up to 333.8mpg combined, this roaring predator can hunt with speed and ruthlessness but reaching its prey without leaving tons of damage in its tracks.

The quattro system’s electrohydraulically actuated multi-plate clutch distributes torque continuously between the axles to ensure optimal traction and handling under any road conditions, meaning this predator won’t lose control on the road. Its seven-speed S tronic incorporates a freewheeling mode when the standard Audi drive select handling system is set to “efficiency” mode, and with the start-stop function, the engine already shuts off when speed drops to 4.3mph.

Onto Looks

Regardless of what edition you choose, the high specification of both set the already unique compact SUV apart from the rest of the SE and Sport range.

LED headlights, an LED interior lighting pack, S line interior and exterior styling cues, 18-inch alloy wheels, C-pillar blades in matt Titanium grey and front sports seats mark out the S line. And don’t forget the Audi Smartphone Interface, SD card-based MMI Navigation and Audi connect infotainment service package, light and rain sensors and Audi drive select is already fitted as standard to all Sport models and above.

Now to the Edition #1 – a unique model in its own right. As well as the 19-inch Audi Sport alloy wheels and Quantum grey paint, which is used exclusively here, a black styling pack and Manhattan grey contrast bumpers, wheel arch trims, side skirts and bumper inserts all serve to mark out this model from the rest. Brilliant black C-pillar blades featuring the Audi rings complete the look.

The interior is furnished with sports seats in Granite grey Fine Nappa leather with Amaretto brown contrast stripes and stitching and a multi-coloured LED interior lighting pack advanced that spreads across the inlays in a special Format design and floor mats also sporting brown contrast stitching.

Whatever edition you choose, these new Audis don’t just perform like predators, but look like them too…
