The charming market town of Ludlow is home to the luxurious Fishmore Hall Hotel. A boutique hotel with 15 bedrooms, a fine dining restaurant, and Spa facilities wrapped up in the stunning Shropshire countryside.
A Room with a View
As you walk through the grand entrance of this sympathetically restored Georgian house you are greeted with a friendly smile at reception. Once booked in we were escorted to our room where we revelled in the luxurious surroundings and took in the beautiful Shropshire views. We were staying in one of the two Luxury Rooms in the hotel; a very spacious open-plan design with the bath forming the feature element.
With a kettle and a coffee pod machine, a choice of refreshments and a mini bar filled with some tasty treats, you are sure to find something that you fancy. A nice little touch as well, rather than the standard two pack of biscuits that you usually get, there was an option to have some home-made biscuits brought to your room.

Fishmore Hall has a purpose built Spa facility which houses four treatment rooms, steam room, sauna, outdoor hot tub, and also an oversized hammock, perfect for a relaxing afternoon. You can choose from a number of Elemis treatments; I opted for the full body massage. The perfect way to unwind after a week in the office, but as with any relaxation treatment the time flew by. I could have stayed there all day! All was not lost though as I made good use of the steam room, sauna and hot tub and then enjoyed making the most of the late summer sunshine in the gardens.
Fine Dining at Fishmore Hall Hotel
The heart of the hotel is Forelles, the restaurant. We started our evening with a drink at the bar before going through to the orangery. With its large windows on three sides and countryside views it was the perfect setting. We enjoyed an exquisitely presented and very flavourful three-course meal made with local produce. There are two menus to choose from: an A La Carte menu and a six course tasting menu. We returned in the morning for an equally satisfying breakfast with cereals, pastries and cooked breakfast all on offer.

Fishmore Hall Hotel is set in the beautiful Shropshire countryside. It is privately-owned and boasts attentive staff and a calm, chilled out atmosphere. It’s perfect for a weekend getaway or a longer period of rest and revitalisation. The hotel is dog-friendly and has excellent facilities for disabled guests.
Make sure you make the most of the surroundings during your stay and visit the historic town of Ludlow and its medieval castle whilst you are there.
