We recently attended the 2015 Honda Civic Type R press launch out in Slovakia. It has been five years since you have been able to purchase a Honda Civic Type R in the UK and I am now pleased to say that from the summer of 2015 the red badge will be making come back.
The Honda Civic Type R is still powered by a 2.0-litre petrol VTEC engine, that is now complemented by a mono scroll turbocharger to boost both the efficiency and performance of the engine. The car creates 306bhp and 400Nm of torque, all this power goes through a 6-speed manual gearbox to the front wheels. The car can get from 0-60mph in 5.7 seconds and will do a top speed of 167mph.
We were lucky enough to get a go in the car before the general public, whilst out in Slovakia we got the opportunity to test this performance car on both the road and race track. Here are a selection of videos from our time with the car.

Hot Lap with BTCC Driver Gordan Shedden
To give a real example of just how good the car is Gordan Shedden, a British racing car driver, took me out for a couple of hot laps. The performance that Gordan was able to get out of the car was ridiculous, excuse me looking scared in the passenger seat.
2015 Honda Civic Type R Road Test
