29 Skoda Vocational School Students Design And Build Their Dream Car

The Skoda Vocational School is back with its traditional Student Car project, marking the ninth time that vocational students from Mladá Boleslav are designing and building their dream car. This project has been an integral part of training at the Skoda Academy since 2014 and has produced some spectacular one-off vehicles that demonstrate the high level of training at the school.

Skoda Vocational School – 29 Strong

The project involves 29 vocational students at the Skoda Academy who have already begun working on their Student Car. They receive expert guidance from their instructors, and throughout the project, they get support from various Skoda Auto departments, including Skoda Design and Technical Development. The details of the ninth Student Car, such as the base vehicle, the name, and the type of conversion, will be revealed in the coming months.

Team Spirit

Maren Gräf, Skoda Auto Board Member for People & Culture, expresses her excitement for this year’s Student Car project, saying that the project never fails to impress her with the tremendous team spirit, enthusiasm, and attention to detail displayed by the students. She adds that the project provides the students with practical experience at every stage of development and exposes them to different departments at the company.

Anticipation For The Ninth Student Car

The Head of the Skoda Academy, Maren Kabowski-Ciecior, also shares her anticipation for the ninth Student Car and notes that this project provides talented apprentices with an opportunity to apply what they have learned in previous years. It also lays the foundation for a promising career at Skoda Auto and introduces students to the diverse range of possible positions at the company.

Early Forerunners Dating Back To 1975 – Skoda Buggy Type 736

The project has a rich history, with early forerunners dating back to 1975. Skoda vocational students designed and built four units of the Skoda Buggy Type 736 by hand for the emerging autocross scene in former Czechoslovakia. Since then, students from the Skoda Vocational School have designed and built eight Skoda Student Cars under the supervision of their instructors.

The Student Car project not only showcases the talent of the students but also highlights the high-quality training provided at the Skoda Academy. We eagerly await the unveiling of the ninth Student Car and wish the students involved the best of luck and fun in building their dream car.
