Following the reveal of the limited-run Cupra R, the Spanish brand has now announced the Cupra 300 Carbon Edition. To be offered in ST guise only, it will be priced from £35,575 and just 50 will be coming to the UK.
What does it have?
Well as you would expect from its name, it features carbon styling. More specifically, it has carbon fibre side blades, as well as front and rear diffusor also made in said material. These additional carbon fibre details will contrast the Monsoon Grey, which will be applied to every model that rolls off the production line.
As well as these new styling cues, the Carbon Edition will also feature 19″ alloys with spokes almost as thin as a human hair, which have chunky Brembo brakes lying with them. At the back you’ll find no less than four exhaust pipes that bear the CUPRA logo; and on the inside you’ll find CUPRA bucket seats.
How Fast is it?
I’m afraid this model is no faster than the standard model, but that’s not to say it’ll be a slouch. Powered by a 2.0 litre turbocharged petrol engine, the Carbon Edition is able to offer 296bhp with 380Nm of torque. This power is fed to all four wheels via a 7-speed DSG (sorry, manual fans). 62mph comes in just 5.6 seconds and it’ll continue to a top speed of 155mph.
Richard Harrison, Managing Director of SEAT UK, said: “Following the success of the special edition CUPRA R, we know that there is demand for limited-run models from customers looking for something truly special. The Leon ST CUPRA Carbon Edition doesn’t only deliver stunning and unique looks, but we believe the enhanced performance and competitive price will be a real draw.”
