Lamborghini Test Their Newest Monster At The Green Hell
The New Lamborghini SUV has been seen testing at the Nurburgring. The high riding Urus is the first Lamborghini SUV since the fantastically insane LM002 from 1986. The new Urus will be powered by a twin turbo 4.0 litre engine. Plus, a hybrid version is also available. Lamborghini confirm that their choice not to use the Huracan V10 or Aventador V12 was to increase fuel economy and give a better power spread. The Lamborghini Urus is being built on the same platform used for the Bentley Bentayga, Audi Q7 and Porsche Cayenne.
On Sale In 2018 With A Suspected Price Of £180,000
Although heavily camouflaged the Urus styling is looking very similar to the impressive concept unveiled at the 2012 Beijing motor show. The Lamborghini Urus will be undergoing final testing at the Nurburgring before production starts in the summer and then goes on sale next year. The Urus was believed to be axed because of the long five year gap but it seems the Asterion hybrid super car has been put on hold in favour of the suspected better selling SUV.
A Lot Of Accomplished Rivals, How Can The Urus compete
The Lamborghini Urus is looking to take on its friends from the VW group. That’s not forgetting the likes of the Mercedes G63, Range Rover Sport and BMW X5. Lamborghini’s experience in making SUVs is limited. But it still remains a strong motor next to its rivals, Ferrari and McLaren. People laughed at Porsche when they revealed the Cayenne. Now, every football clubs car park is full of them, so watch this space.
