Currently the most hardcore Porsche Cayman you can buy is the 3.4-litre 340bhp GTS. However recently there has been sightings of a more extreme looking Cayman which could be a GT4 version, official knowledge is yet to be released. So for the sake of this article let’s call it the GT4.
Usually, when development cars such as this one are being tested they are often disguised. Strangely the Cayman GT4 was spotted with no camouflage covering the body panels. Now we get a first look of how good the super sporty GT4 model looks.
Porsche Cayman GT4 Upgrades
As with all Porsche GT models it would have more power than the basic models, it will weigh less, and will stick to tarmac like nothing else. The Cayman GT4 is sporting larger and wider alloy wheels, which will no doubt have some high performing tyres to help keep the additional power under control.
At the back, there are two spoilers, a smaller duck tail spoiler and a large wing spoiler, both of these will assist maintaining grip at higher speeds.
How much power will it have?
We currently don’t know the engine power figures or what gearbox the GT4 will have. But if I had to guess, with the current fastest Cayman engine being the 3.4-litre engine in the Cayman GTS which has 340bhp, so a reasonable lift would be to around 4000bhp.
Logic would say that if all these efforts are going into a Cayman GT4 then Porsche may also be making similar steps with creating a Boxster GT4, we will have to wait and see how this develops.
