Congratulations to Ferrari who won the season-long race to become the fastest pit crew in formula one last year. For consistently completing the fastest pit stops in 2013.
That is the finding of Germany’s Auto Motor und Sport Magazine, also revealing that although Red Bull and Mercedes performed the fastest single pit stops in 2013, Italian Ferrari’s crew performed consistently the quickest over the entire calendar.
Fastest Pit Stops
The report said the average speed of Ferrari’s 89 pit stops in 2013 was 2.78 seconds, significantly faster than Mercedes’ 2.95.
World champions, Red Bull, came in third, a hundredth of a second behind Mercedes.
McLaren’s average pit stop in 2013 took 3.18 seconds, the analysis added.
And the same German magazine reported recently that Ferrari was the only team that got through every grand prix of the year without a single technical failure.
