Hennessey H700 Corvette C8 Convertible

Hennessey’s Supercharged Midship Vette – H700 C8 Convertible

Texas-based tuner, Hennessey, has made some of the fastest and most powerful aftermarket machines on the market. Pretty much nothing is off the table, from supercharged off-roaders and trucks, to 1,000++hp muscle cars that’ll challenge any supercar from across the pond. So, it’s no surprise what’d happen when a C8 Corvette would make its way past their shop.

A brand-new high-performance supercharger… Check. An air-to-water intercooler… Check. An enhanced cat-back exhaust system… Check. How about a recalibrated ECU, and a bunch more upgrades under the hood? Also… Check. What you’d end up with is a now souped-up Chevy C8 Corvette hard-top convertible running more than 708bhp and a mighty 638 lb-ft of torque.

Supercharged Supremacy, Road Or Track

That’s a 44% increase in horsepower, and a 37% increase in torque over the stock C8 Corvette convertible from the factory, putting it squarely in Z06 territory. Even more impressive is how Hennessey throws in a pretty good warranty with all this, too – 3 years or 36,000 miles, just in case all that horsepower proves far too overwhelming. There’s more to a supercharger, too.

Besides the whopping big supercharger that Hennessey’s strapped onto the C8 Corvette’s mid-engined LT2 6.2-litre V8 motor, a few more secondary mods were needed to keep it in check. It includes a high-flow air induction system, upgraded fuel system, some software calibration for the transmission, and some heavy-duty, performance fluids and gaskets, to boot.

Enough Power And Torque To Kill A Z06

This is what ultimately resulted in a 200+bhp increase over the stock C8 Corvette (490bhp and 465 lb-ft of torque, respectively), and it’s more powerful than Chevy’s own Z06, with a 670 bhp and 460 lb-ft output, courtesy of the factory, naturally aspirated 5.5-litre LT6 flat-plane crank V8. There are additional options that you could spec too, like a cool heritage livery.

Or, there’s an active-valve exhaust system, forged 19-inch alloy wheels (with different finishes available), and some unique badging as well as a plaque to remind others that you have more than just a standard C8 Corvette. Special enough on its own, tuners like Hennessey show that Chevy’s C8 Corvette has a lot more room for improvements in the aftermarket scene.
