Forget electric cars for a second. Here comes the world’s first electric road project.

McLaren P1 Destroys The COTA Race Track

Here is a great bit of footage shot from a 2015 Corvette Z06 pursuing a McLaren P1 around the famous Circuit of the Americas race track. The P1 hypercar has 903 bhp and will do 0-60 mph in 2.7 seconds. The immense speed of this car will blow your mind. Check out our post here.

The SKODA KODIAQ – Is Functionality The New Sexy?

The tagline SKODA is using for this new model is ‘functionality at its most attractive’. Which possibly isn’t the sexiest of promotions on the face of it but let’s take a look at what we can glean from what SKODA are offering with the KODIAQ here.

Top Gear: Things Can Only Get Better

We started off with Chris Harris in the Aston Martin Vulcan in Abu Dhabi and this was, again, the highlight of the show. Harris is clearly the best part of the new programme and has proved it in the two films he’s appeared in. The Aston Martin Vulcan is an incredible machine and shows what Aston can do when they really put their full force behind a car. The crew – which is probably the best and most consistent part of the new Top Gear – showed once again that when it comes to cinematography and filming they are the best in the business. European GP 2016 Review – Nico’s Switch Of Fortunes

Really the logic was irrefutable. As was said by Red Bull boss Christian Horner of the debutant Baku City Circuit hosting the European Grand Prix, “if ever there could be a circuit built for Mercedes, it’s this one”. But, many thought, there could be spanners in the works. Sebastian Vettel could get the lead off the line. Plus it could be a destruction derby as both GP2 races were, with frequent safety cars, and those races suggested too that the leader could be a sitting duck at re-starts. But neither of these spanners were released into the cogs. Read more here

McLaren Stopped The Production Of The P1, But Not P1 GTR

The time has come when McLaren have hit the stop button for the McLaren P1, which might just be the best car ever made. McLaren produced a limited run of only 375 P1s since its release at the Paris Motor Show in 2012. The McLaren P1 has been writing headlines, breaking lap times and thrilling owners all over the world, but sadly I am still yet to drive one. Read more on the McLaren P1 GTR here.

Bentley Continental 1952 R-Type – 2016 GT

Most people would comfortably say that the Bentley Continental is one of the most iconic cars on the road today. The truth of the matter is that the Continental has actually been an icon from its inception. Bentley have recently released some fantastic pictures and video footage of the 1952 R-Type Continental next to the 2016 version of the car. And my god, the original car still looks great even by today’s standards. Take a look at our post here.

Aston Martin DBX Crossover Still Going Ahead

We haven’t heard much about the Aston Martin DBX crossover for a while, but it did have the green light for production. This follows an investment of £200 million. The new funding in the form of preference shares that will allow the luxury British sports car manufacturer to develop this impressive-looking new car. Take a closer look here.

Behind The Wheel Of The Peugeot RCZ R

Taking the Peugeot RCZ R out for its first proper spin was a real eye-opener for me. Bearing in mind that this is a 1.6 litre petrol engine, that can create 270 bhp and is front wheel drive, this Peugeot is very quick. The 0-60 time comes in at around 5.9 seconds and the car will do a top speed of 155 mph. Behind the wheel it is a pretty good driving experience, everything about the car feels well connected. Take a look at what else we thought here.

DS3, DS3 Cabrio And DS3 Performance Styling Changes

The styling for the DS3 has followed on from its DS4 and DS5 bigger brothers. You will significantly notice the changes at the front of the car. Of course, the Citroen badges have been removed and replaced with DS badging, but we also have a new grille, and new headlights which feature new running lights that have been set inside the main lens like 3 gems on display. Lower down the bumper, the car features new fog lamps and LED indicators too. It doesn’t stop there. Read more here.
